Faculty-Student Advisement
Faculty advisers are an important resource for students in their programs and for career and personal counseling. Faculty advisers are assigned to first-time entering students.
Consistent with the philosophy, the School of Nursing strives to foster a climate of mutual respect and support among students and faculty. Upon admission to the School of Nursing, students are assigned a faculty adviser who serves as an academic counselor. The adviser maintains a close relationship with the student and collaborates with the student on action plans to enhance academic achievement.
Academic advisers assist students in developing individualized plans of study, including part-time study and independent study electives. Communication between faculty and students is encouraged by scheduled appointments, telephone, mail and email.
